RAIN BARREL WORKSHOPS

The 2025 Rain Barrel Workshop will be held May 10 at the American Legion Park in Fairfield.

Build and decorate your own rain barrel for watering your lawn and garden! This is an all ages event.

For a suggested $45 donation, you will receive a 30-gallon barrel and hardware, tote bag, and coupon for lunch or breakfast at the Copper Creek Coffee, located across the street from the park. Participants will learn about water conservation strategies, nonpoint source pollution, and how to assemble, install, and maintain their rain barrel. Stick around and decorate your barrel - we will provide paint, stencils, and other supplies. Make sure you’re dressed to get dirty and for springtime in Montana - don’t forget your rain jacket and sunscreen. If the weather is bad we’ll move to the Community Hall. Event begins at 9:30 am.

This event is sponsored by the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, Bells Brewing, High Country Coca-Cola Distributing, and the US Bureau of Reclamation.

This is SRWG’s 4th Rain Barrel Workshop. So far they have been held every-other year, but we are fortunate to have funding for the next three years! Locations vary, as we try to rotate the event to different communities in the Sun River Watershed. We anticipate the 2026 workshop will be held in Great Falls, but check back for details.
